An exhibition of the finest marine paintings of James E. Buttersworth (1844-1894), long recognized as one of the foremost ship portraitists of the 19th century. Features grand canvasses celebrating great clipper ships, as well as Buttersworth's exquisite smaller panels.

Explores the story of Connecticut whaling captain George Comer and his extraordinary relationship with the Inuit. This ground-breaking exhibit features traditional clothing and tools, stunning photographs, voice recordings and full-scale reconstructions of Comer's winter quarters and an Inuit igloo.
