Mount Misery Overlook in Pachaug State Forest and Ekonk Hill are scenic vistas along the way. Ekonk Hill Turkey Farm and Brown Cow Café are located at the crest of Ekonk Hill. Follow Route 49 to a left onto Route 14A, for a few miles through Plainfield. Route 14A blends with Route14 West, and then follow Route 14 West to Canterbury and the Intersection of Routes 14 and 169. At the Intersection is the Prudence Crandall Museum, home of the first school for black girls in New England. Take Route 169, a National Scenic Byway, North to Brooklyn Common and the Intersection with Route 6. Take Route 6 West to Hartford, or East To Providence; or continue North on Route 169 to Massachusetts.
