Children’s Museum

Kids ages seven and under have a place all their own – the at Mystic Seaport's Children’s Museum. Here, young sailors can swab the deck, move cargo, cook in the galley, dress in sailor’s garb and even sleep in ships’ bunks. Skills of the Sailor

Kids love learning traditional sailor’s skills at the Seaport’s new activity center. Try your hand at rope making, test your?mind as you send coded messages with signal flags and learn how to?raise a sail. Then listen as our chanteyman perform songs of the sea. More on the Mystic Seaport website>

Treworgy Planetarium

Explore the winter sky from the warmth of our planetarium. Children ages five and under will especially enjoy “Zoo in the Sky,” our morning program that uses stories of the animals?of the night sky to journey among the stars. More on the Mystic Seaport website>

Playscapes

What good are a sailing ship, lobster boat, and fishing dragger that don’t float on water? Plenty, when they're playscapes! Mystic Seaport’s playscape area was designed just for kids to climb around and explore. More on the Mystic Seaport website>

Horse and Carriage Rides

The whole family will enjoy riding a horse and carriage around the Mystic Seaport grounds, giving feet a rest and providing an authentic experience of days gone by. Horse and carriage rides are available during warmer months only, 11 am-5 pm daily. $5 per person. No reservations required. More on Mystic Seaport website>

Row on the Mystic River

Great fun for the whole family. your own historic wooden rowboat or other small craft and take your own personal tour of the Mystic River. Rentals at Mystic Seaport offer excellent water views of the 19-acre museum area. Boats are rented by the hour, and Mystic Seaport admissions is required. More on the Mystic Seaport Website>
