About the Inn
The Inn at Stonington stands in the footprint of the once famous Harborview Restaurant. It was 1971 when Jerry and Ainslee Turner took a simple bar and fish restaurant called Mangiello’s and turned it into the area’s finest restaurant. With its casual sister restaurant Skipper’s Dock behind them on the dock and their lobster pound right next door, they became parts of peoples lives and celebrations for over 20 years. After the Turners sold their restaurant, it failed to maintain the reputation that they had built. On Sept 29, 1997 the Harborview suffered a fatal fire. Bill Griffin took the opportunity to rebuild the property as the Inn at Stonington and opened the doors in April of 2001. Two years later, he renovated and opened the neighboring building called the Annex. The Inn continues to honor the sites history and create another exciting chapter.
During your stay with us, be sure to take in the "Borough's" variety of restaurants, antique and gift shops, and galleries - all within walking distance from our beautiful Stonington Connecticut Inn.
