Introduction

The Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center brings to life the story of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, and serves as a major resource on the history of the Tribe, the histories and cultures of other tribes, and the region's natural history. The 308,000-square-foot complex, whose research facility serves as a major resource for scholars and the general public on American and Canadian Native histories and cultures, is one of the most innovative and comprehensive centers of its kind in the United States.

Exhibits

The Pequot Museum is a tribally owned-and-operated, state-of-the-art complex located in Mashantucket, CT. Opened on Aug. 11, 1998, it presents the rich history of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, the histories and cultures of other tribes, and the region's natural history through a series of innovative, interactive presentations. Mashantucket Gallery

The museum features the Mashantucket Gallery which is dedicated to changing displays of native arts and cultures. The gallery occupies 4,200 of the museum's 308,000 square feet and has hosted dozens of exhibits since its opening. Click here to learn more.

Observation Tower

The museum's observation tower stands 185 feet tall and overlooks the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation's reservation, the Great Cedar Swamp, and the tribe's two casinos—Foxwoods Resort Casino and the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. Come ride the elevator all the way up to the top for an unforgettable view and the experience of a lifetime.

The Trading Post

Pequot Café

The restaurant offers a luncheon menu including family fare, Native American selections, and snacks which can be enjoyed on a balcony overlooking a forest setting.
