BALLO, which means dance in Italian, offers an incomparable Italian experience with exceptional service and a fresh, authentic menu of Italian favorites and new seasonal creations all within a 16,000 square foot stunning cathedral-like room inspired by San Galgano. From the one of the largest Carrera marble bars ever built, to the high-impact, intense design combinations of “The Abbey,” to the bold materials, Italian fixtures and dramatic lighting of the dining area, the entire experience is one that stays with you and your guests.

On Saturday nights, after 10pm, BALLO SOCIAL CLUB is the place to be. The dining room is transformed into a high-energy late-night venue with notable DJs, beautiful dancers and perfectly designed cocktails. The dance floor sits parallel to the stunning lounge area, “The Abbey,” complete with cozy couches, lush fabrics and dim lighting where guests can get VIP Bottle service and mingle with the crowd. And don’t worry, that late night dancing will not leave you hungry as guests can enjoy a great late night menu including gourmet stone fired pizzas designed by Executive Chef, Shaun Golan.

BALLO also offers exceptional catering arrangements that can turn your event, big or small (anywhere from 12 to 600 guests!), into an unforgettable experience that will not soon be forgotten. BALLO is located in the Mohegan Sun Casino and can be found in “The Casino of the Earth.”

John J. Tunney III, owner and restaurant maverick who is best known for his high-profile, always-packed creations in New York, Connecticut, Las Vegas and Atlantic City, brought this same passion to the Italian experience found at BALLO.  BALLO is inspired by San Galgano – a Gothic abbey built in the 12th century and located in the hills of Tuscany. “San Galgano represents all that is spectacular about Italy – the history, the passion, the fortitude of the country.  What better place to worship the food of Italy than in a place that replicates their mastery?” says Tunney.
