The Norwich Arts Center presents Gail Wade on Friday, May 4 at the Donald L. Oat Theater at 8:00pm. Part of NAC’s First Friday Live Sounds series of music performances, this original songwriter and guitarist returns to the Donald L. Oat with a fusion of American musical genres, including folk and blues.
For over 20 years, Wade has entertained audiences throughout the USA, Ireland and several European countries with her rich voice and introspective lyrics. And talk about diverse genres: Wade’s sound fluidly weaves through folk, old-time, blues, bluegrass and swing. Bluegrass Now Magazine hailed her as a musical force, with a voice that “permits her to move with ease from sultry and mischievous to poignant and heartwarming.” With guitar or banjo in hand, Wade strums her way through both original material and her personal take on classic songs, promising audiences an unforgettable experience.
First Friday Live Sounds runs through June (just 2 performances left!) and features a different artist every month. Events are BYOB but affordable refreshments are also available. Tables seat up to eight people, and ticket prices for this event are $20 per person. To purchase tickets, call the Norwich Arts Center / Donald L. Oat Theater Box Office at 860-887-2789, or tickets can be purchased through their web site at www.norwicharts.org.
