Description
Art work by Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts alumni T. Allen “Tim” Lawson of Rockport, Maine and Glenn Olsen of Niantic, Connecticut has been selected for the Founder’s Prize and the President’s Prize, respectively, in the Eighth Alumni Exhibition hosted by the College. The award-winning work, in all media, was selected by jury from among 144 pieces submitted by graduates of the College for the exhibition. The alumni exhibition is held on a biennial basis. Fifty two pieces, submitted by 85 graduates of the College, were selected by faculty for exhibit. Prizes are being awarded for the first time this year, and are named in honor of Lyme Academy College’s founder and noted sculptor, the late Elisabeth Gordon Chandler, and also in honor of the College’s president, Debra Petke. Alumna Pamela Thompson donated the cash prize for the Founder’s Award. An anonymous donor donated the cash prize for the President’s Award. The exhibitions are generously sponsored by the Homeland Foundation, Inc. and Smith Insurance, Inc.
